Information for Speakers
Speakers will be chosen by a hybrid method: some will be chosen Friday night, and some well in advance. If you have a dynamite topic that you can speak about, please propose it on the mailing list! Our target audience is users and hackers. Here's what we're looking for:
- Expert advice on how to use a database server to the utmost. Look at any typical database conference and pick the cream of the crop of talks on scaling, performance, choosing hardware, query tricks, and the like. That's an example of what the "user" audience might benefit from. The target here is users, database administrators, and developers.
- Deep technical knowledge that database hackers can use as they dive into the hackfest on Sunday. For example, did you write a novel commit methodology for your favorite database server? Tell us how you did it, and what the key constraints and architectural enablers or limiters are. Hopefully this will inspire someone else to take a fresh look and maybe contribute to improving another database server. The audience for this type of talk is the "hacker" audience.
- Propose others if you think they'll fit!
Please use the mailing list to propose sessions.
